Forrest Bathing and Potluck
Umstead Park Cary NC
Friday 10/11/2019 9:30-12:00
Join us for a morning of Forrest Bathing! Inspired by traditional Japanese practice called Shinrin-yoku you’ll learn to disconnect from demands of our busy world and detox your senses to settle into a state of deep appreciation. Once everyone arrives, we’ll honor each other and embark upon a pilgrimage of rest, realization, and gratitude. Together, we’ll step into mysteries of The Forrest in Nobel Silence to absorb the sights, smells, and sounds of nature. Along our path, we’ll take a comfortable seat to immerse ourselves in the forrest atmosphere before wandering back to the Loblolly Shelter to share a delicious and nourishing vegetarian/gluten free potluck.
Being among the tress chemically changes the body. It reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, calms anxiety, and counters feelings of social isolation leaving practitioners more relaxed and in a better mood. Study after study has proven experiences like this, in nature, is highly effective for self soothing and result in increased empathy and improved focus.
