My Training and Experience

Alisha Nissenfeld embarked on her journey with Mindfulness and Hatha Yoga in the late 1990s, earning her certification as a teacher in 2007. In May 2014, she relocated to North Carolina with her husband and three children, channeling her passion for spreading love and light through a deep connection to the earth, community building, and intentional living. Furthering her expertise, she completed a RYT-500 Yoga Trauma and Therapeutics Training in 2018 through the Asheville Yoga Center of NC.

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Alisha holds a Masters in Social Work from Fordham University School of Social Services in New York City, complemented by a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from The School of Visual Arts in New York City.

Alisha conducts yoga and mindfulness classes, workshops, and retreats throughout The Triangle. Empowering clients to achieve their goals, her approach is compassionate and integrative, drawing from Evidence-Based Treatment Modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Expressive Therapy, Neuroscience, Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Therapy, Pranayama and Meditation. Her therapeutic sessions are client-centered, collaborative, and supportive, emphasizing the unique value of each individual.

She equips clients with accessible and sustainable tools to cope with issues such as anxiety, depression, compulsive disorders, substance abuse, sexual trauma, relationship distress, family conflict, life transitions, PTSD, and Eating Disorders.

WHEN PEOPLE WORK WITH ME, I AM GUIDED BY THEIR NEEDS. I WANT TO HEAR THEIR STORY.

My focus revolves around embracing self-love, self-care, and self-realization - for the greater good of all beings and the planet- all while being guided by the beauty and joy found in nature. I derive immense satisfaction from assisting individuals in connecting with their inner selves, navigating blind spots, understanding their emotions, and utilizing that awareness for personal growth and a more effective engagement with life. Together, we can silence the external noise to foster inner calm. By deepening our connection with experiences, we unlock the ability to fully live and choose the narrative of our lives. We have the power to shape who we become, the company we keep, and the extent to which we show up for ourselves and others.

I WANT US ALL TO BE ABLE TO BREATHE, MOVE, AND EXPRESS OURSELVES IN A WAY THAT IS HEALING AND EMPOWERING.
